General Guidelines

Attendance Policies

  1. All students must sign-in prior to the class and receive a CE Registration Slip.
  2. Students must attend at least 90% of the course to earn CE credit.
  3. Students must turn in their CE Registration Slip at the end of the class to receive credit. If they fail to turn in the slip or another student attempts to turn in their slip, they will not receive CE credit.
  4. Students who are disruptive to the class will receive one warning. If disruptive behavior continues, they will be asked to leave the classroom and will forfeit their registration fee and CE credit.

Classroom Policies

  1. Instructors will be held to the RAGC Faculty Agreement terms.
  2. Full attention must be given to the Instructor and the material.
  3. Cell phones/pagers must be turned off or to silent mode while in the classroom. You are not permitted to leave the room during class to take multiple phone calls unless there is an emergency.
  4. For Virtual Classes, please arrive at least five minutes before the start of class. To obtain CE credit, you must have a functioning webcam and remain visible on camera for the entire class. Additionally, driving while taking a class is not permitted.

Refund Policies

  1. If you cancel your class registration prior to the start of the class, you are eligible for a full refund.
  2. Class registration fees are nonrefundable after the start of the class. If you are late and have not called in advance, your registration fee is nonrefundable and you will not receive a “class credit”.
  3. If you have registered for a class and are a “no-show” or a “no cancel” you are NOT eligible for a refund or “class credit”.
  4. Every student that is a “no show” or “no cancel” to a free RAGC sponsored course will be charged a $20.00 penalty fee.

Inclement Weather Policies

Note: The below policies pertain to closings and delays due to inclement weather.

  1. If Hamilton County issues a Level 2 Snow Emergency all RAGC classes will be canceled and the students refunded their payment with no penalty.
  2. If there is bad weather, but not a Level 2, you are free to cancel your attendance prior to the start of the class with no penalty.
  3. If you are driving from another county and that county has issued a Level 2 Snow Emergency you may also cancel with no penalty.

CE Reporting

  1. CE Registration Slips must be turned in at the end of a class to receive CE credit. RAGC will report your attendance to the Ohio Division of Real Estate within 10 days of the class date.

Instructor Qualifications

Must be a licensed real estate agent or a professional in the subject they teach.

  1. If they are a professional in the area they teach, they must be certified when applicable.
  2. All newly approved instructors must teach at RAGC (400 E. Business Way Suite 100, Sharonville, OH 45241) before they are permitted to teach at offsite locations.
  3. All those teaching required courses by the Ohio Division of Real Estate (Ethics, Law, Civil Rights) must monitor the class prior to teaching.

Application Process

  1. The Ohio Division of Real Estate Instructor Certification Form must be completed and returned to RAGC’s Director of Professional Development.
  2. An updated resume must be submitted with the Instructor Certification Form.
  3. All outlines must be submitted with the Instructor Certification Form. Instructors wishing to teach a personally developed class are responsible for creating their own outlines.
  4. Instructors must sign and send back the RAGC Faculty agreement with their Instructor Certification Form.
  5. All newly added classes or classes that are up for review by the Ohio Division of Real Estate are subject to Professional Development Committee approval.

Class Outline Information

  1. All classes sponsored by RAGC should help students achieve an enhanced level of one or more of the following:
    • Productivity
    • Profitability
    • Professionalism
    • Protection
  2. Class outlines must be broken down in 30-minute increments or less.
  3. The Ohio Division of Real Estate Administrative Code 1301:5-7-02-G states that: “the term hour of continuing education shall consist of sixty minutes”. Any break time that is given does not count towards continuing education and will have to be made up throughout the course outline.
  4. RAGC requests that all materials are received no later than 45 days prior to the initial offering of the class to allow for State approval and proper marketing time.

Offsite Location Guidelines

CE Seminar Scheduling Guidelines

  1. Requests to hold a CE seminar must be received by RAGC at least 45 days in advance. Please Note: if the Director of Professional Development is not notified prior to a CE seminar, CE Certificates will not be issued – no exceptions.
  2. A RAGC approved monitor must be present for the entire class. Monitors will be assigned only by the Director of Professional Development at RAGC.
  3. Once the Director of Professional Development has been notified, a monitor has been assigned, and the course has been officially approved by the Ohio Division of Real Estate, the course may be scheduled and advertised.
  4. All advertisements for a RAGC sponsored offsite CE course must be approved by the RAGC’s Director of Professional Development.
  5. The offsite course and Instructor must already be approved by the Ohio Division of Real Estate and RAGC. No RAGC sponsored CE course shall be taught off-site without being taught at RAGC first.
  6. The Broker, Manager, or Instructor is responsible for coordinating the offsite CE Seminar.
  7. All offsite CE seminars must be open to all licensees of any company based upon availability and held in a classroom environment.
  8. Student sign-up process is to be agreed upon by RAGC and the Broker, Manager, or Instructor hosting the course. If RAGC is responsible for registration, all students must be advised to sign-up with RAGC prior to the course. Brokers, Managers, or Instructors should work diligently with RAGC to ensure everyone they have referred to RAGC for registration completes the sign-up process. If the Broker, Office Manager, or Instructor chooses to manage registration, they must send a complete list of all licensees to RAGC’s Director of Professional Development at least one day prior to the course.
  9. Offsite CE seminars are a service that is only available to offices who are members of the Cincinnati Area Board of REALTORS®.

Facility Guidelines

Any class sponsored by RAGC that is held in an offsite venue must meet the following requirements:

  1. The class must be held in a room specifically designed for meeting, classroom, or theater use. Other venues may be approved when deemed appropriate by RAGC.
  2. The facility must have good lighting, proper seating, and appropriate A/V equipment if necessary.
  3. The facility must have necessary accessibility features to allow for all licensees to attend regardless of a disability.

Classroom Guidelines

  1. Instructors will be held to the RAGC Faculty Agreement terms.
  2. A RAGC appointed monitor must be present the entire duration of the course.
  3. Attendees must sign-in on the RAGC provided sign-in sheet and receive a CE Registration Slip prior to the class starting.
  4. Students must turn in their CE Registration Slip at the end of the class to receive credit. If they fail to turn in the slip or another student attempts to turn in their slip, they will not receive CE credit.
  5. Students must attend at least 90% of the course to earn CE credit.
  6. Cell phones/pagers must be turned off or to silent mode while in the classroom. You are not permitted to leave the room during class to take multiple phone calls, unless there is an emergency.

Offsite CE Seminar Fees

  1. Students will pay the same rate that applies to the course when held at RAGC. Fees collected will not be split with Office or Manager. Please Note Exception: There will be a $10.00 per student charge for any RAGC sponsored Ethics, Core Law, or Civil Rights class.
  2. There will be an additional $2.00 per student fee charged to the Broker, Manager, or Instructor to cover CE administration costs. The Office, Manager, or Instructor will only be charged for students that attend the course.
  3. Students may pay class fees by check made out to RAGC, cash, or all major credit cards are accepted.
