The REALTOR® Alliance of Greater Cincinnati (RAGC) is proud to sponsor Cincinnti Vice Mayor Jan Michele Lemon Kearney’s OWNBLK Homeownership Symposium on June 28 and 29. This pivotal event is dedicated to empowering Black homeowners and addressing the longstanding disparities, especially with regard to access, in Black homeownership within our community.
As part of the symposium, RAGC will host and participate in a panel discussion titled “Leveraging Your Equity – Home Renovations to Age in Place.” The panel, moderated by RAGC’s Advocacy Chair, Jeff Rosa, will feature REALTORS® discussing various programs designed to assist Black homeowners in aging in place strategies and preserving generational wealth.
Rosa highlighted the significance of this initiative, stating, “Cincinnati has a long, sordid history of discriminatory housing policy. The recent Connected Communities Initiative, coupled with increased outreach and education, can help Black Cincinnatians turn the tide and increase Black homeownership.”
Mary Huttlinger, RAGC’s Government Affairs Director, emphasized the importance of community support, adding, “Cincinnati has a wide gap to fill, and there is ample opportunity for all Cincinnatians to rally behind helping our fellow citizens achieve the American dream of homeownership. We applaud Vice Mayor Kearney, and our very own Darrick Dansbury, both whom are REALTORS®, for their leadership in addressing and increasing black homeownership.”
