This October, the REALTOR® Alliance of Greater Cincinnati (RAGC) is partnering with Shoes 4 the Shoeless to collect new socks for local children and families in need. Shoes 4 the Shoeless is a nonprofit organization that provides new athletic shoes and socks to students throughout our region, helping improve confidence, health, school attendance, and participation in physical activities. Learn more about Shoes 4 the Shoeless by visiting their website: https://shoes4theshoeless.org/.

Throughout the month of October, RAGC members, offices, and affiliates are invited to collect new children’s and adult socks to support this important community effort. Socks are one of the most requested yet least donated clothing items, and your generosity will help provide comfort and warmth to local students and families.

Our goal is to collect 10,000 pairs of socks—and we’ll be tracking our progress with a Sock Meter as we work toward this community milestone!

How to Participate

Getting involved is easy!

Sign up for a collection box through this Tangilla form: Socktober Box Request Form. Collection boxes, generously donated by Black Tie Moving, will be delivered to participating REALTOR® and Affiliate offices during the weeks of September 14 and September 21. Boxes can be picked up at the RAGC office or delivered by committee volunteers.

Collect socks from October 1–30, then return your donation box to the RAGC office or arrange for committee pickup by November 2.

The collected socks will be presented to Shoes 4 the Shoeless during the week of November 2.

Friendly Office Competition

Add a little fun to your giving! Participating offices will compete to see who can collect the most pairs of socks.

The winning office will receive a special food celebration hosted by the Community Outreach Committee as a thank-you for their outstanding community support.

Most Needed Donations

Please donate new socks only in all children’s and adult sizes.

Greatest current need: Men’s XXL socks

If you’re planning to shop during Ohio’s Tax-Free Weekend (August 7 – 9), consider stocking up on socks while they’re tax-free and helping local families at the same time.

Additional Ways to Give

If you’d rather not shop in person, there are several convenient ways to support the drive:

Volunteer with Us

Want to make an even bigger impact? Members will have the opportunity to volunteer at upcoming Shoes for the Shoeless school events throughout Butler, Warren, Clinton, and Hamilton counties. Volunteer dates will be announced soon.

Together, let’s show the power of the REALTOR® community by helping local children put their best foot forward—one pair of socks at a time.
