By DaVan Gassett, President, REALTOR® Alliance of Greater Cincinnati
The REALTOR® Alliance of Greater Cincinnati proudly supports efforts to advance diversity, equity and inclusion – both within the organization and throughout the communities we serve. We are also deeply committed to upholding Fair Housing and expanding opportunities for everyone to access to the American Dream of homeownership.
As REALTORS® we subscribe to a strict Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice that sets forth an obligation to treat all parties honestly and fairly. RAGC affirms its support of federal and state fair housing laws that provide equal opportunity in housing by protecting individuals from discrimination in the sale, rental, financing, or advertising of housing.
We strive for a common purpose – celebrating all perspectives by providing equal professional service regardless of race, color, religion, sex, disability, familial status, national origin, sexual orientation or gender identity.
April is Fair Housing Month, a time to reflect on the ideals set forth in the landmark federal legislation enacted on April 11, 1968. At its core, the Fair Housing Act is about freedom, choice and security: the freedom to live where you want, raise a family where opportunity abounds, and do so without fear of discrimination.
Housing is one of the most important, basic necessities, and Cincinnati REALTORS® are at the forefront of helping to build lives and strengthen our community with fair and balanced service to all we serve.
We encourage all members to take time this month to honor Fair Housing by engaging in local events, participating in educational opportunities, or simply recommitting to the principles that make our profession a force for good.
